Frequently asked questions
The kit contains 30 g of organic ceremonial matcha, one bamboo chasen and a box of 48 Japanese incense sticks. The incense provides more than 20 hours of total burning time.
The matcha comes from Nishio in Aichi, Japan. It is made from the Yabukita cultivar and a spring ichibancha, meaning the first harvest of the year.
Yes. The matcha is organic and contains 100% green tea matcha powder, with no gluten or allergens.
The matcha has soft, vegetal and fresh notes without bitterness. It can be served with water, made into a latte or used in no-bake pastry.
Add one level teaspoon, about 1 g, to a bowl with a small amount of water at no more than 75°C (167°F). Whisk with the bamboo chasen for about 20 seconds, then drink it as prepared or add more water or milk.
Place a stick in an incense holder, light the tip and blow out the flame after a few seconds. Keep your distance, avoid inhaling the smoke directly and extinguish the stick fully to reduce the risk of burns or fire.
A glass filled with rice or lentils can hold the incense stick upright. Insert the stick securely before lighting it and place the glass on a stable surface.
Keep the matcha container tightly closed in a cool, dry place and use it within three months of opening for the best taste. Rinse the chasen with cold water and air-dry it with the tines facing upward.
