Frequently asked questions
The set contains a 30 g tin of organic ceremonial matcha, a short bamboo chasen whisk, a bamboo chashaku scoop and a porcelain naoshi whisk holder.
Yes. The ceremonial matcha is organic and contains 100% green tea matcha powder.
The matcha comes from Nishio in Aichi, Japan. It is made from the Yabukita cultivar and hand-harvested in spring as ichibancha, the first harvest.
The matcha has sweet, vegetal and fresh notes without bitterness.
Transfer about 1 g of matcha to a bowl with the chashaku, add a small amount of water at 70–75°C, then whisk rapidly in a W or M motion for about 20 seconds.
The matcha can be prepared traditionally with water, mixed into a matcha latte or used in no-bake pastries.
Rinse the chasen with plain water without soap, then air-dry it on the naoshi or with its tines facing upward. Wipe the chashaku with a soft cloth and avoid soaking either bamboo tool.
The chasen is 15 cm long and 4 cm across the tine end. The chashaku is 18 cm long. The porcelain naoshi is 4 cm high and 6 cm in diameter.
