Have you ever sipped a clump of matcha? Doesn't matter the quality of your matcha, it will ruin your experience. Trust me, bro. Because I have been this lazy once, or more time than I want to admit. Awful. So, sifting. I know, it sounds extra. One more step, one more tool to clean. But here's the thing, matcha clumps, it's not your fault. It's not your technique, it's the matcha. The powder is just dramatic like that. And those tiny clumps, they won't dissolve. You can whisk, whisk, whisk, whisk away, even with a proper frother, they will defeat you. So, before you add your water, just take 5 seconds and push your matcha powder through a fine mesh strainer, or proper matcha sifter, if you feel fancy, or a broken tea bowl. I told you I'm lazy. I've been drinking matcha for 5 years and I've not bought a matcha sifter yet. But, it does the trick. That's it. Now you have proper powder, no pebbles. Your taste buds will thank you, and your little speck of Monday morning sanity left will thank you. Is it extra? Yes. Is it worth it? Definitely. Some things are just like that in life.
