Ceremonial matcha in a latte, is it a waste? No shame, I do the same. I'm not the matcha police. You pay for it, you drink it however you want. But here's what I've learned from drinking too many matcha lattes. First, ceremonial grade can work in lattes. Obvious. But remember that they are ceremonial and ceremonial matcha powders. The quality scale is very broad because ceremonial grade is not a regulated term, so anyone can just slap the label on their matcha tin. If it's good quality, you will taste the matcha through the milk. It's smooth, it's nice, no regrets. If you like strong lattes like me and not matcha flavored milk, ceremonial sometimes can be too subtle and you will end up adding a lot more matcha powder just to taste the matcha. I've been there [music] and a $40 matcha tin that adds up fast. Number two, a lot of people say that you don't need ceremonial grade for your lattes. That a good second harvest nibancha works better cuz it has a strong flavor so it can hold up against milk and it costs less. Honestly, I've not tried it I'm a ceremonial in latte person, sue me. But it's on my list because in this economy so if you have any recommendations, let me know. Third, and here's where this gets annoying. I've bought matcha labeled ceremonial grade that I couldn't drink straight. It was bitter, it was harsh, sad, desperate for attention. A real pick me. But in lattes, suddenly fine. That was not ceremonial grade, that was marketing grade. If you have a real ceremonial and you want to put it in lattes, go for it. It's your matcha, it's your morning, it's your money. I'm just here to make sure that you are not scammed into thinking that you bought something that was not it.
