## Kanayamidori from Shizuoka

Kanayamidori is a Japanese tea cultivar created by crossing Yabukita with a Shizuoka native tea plant. Registered in 1970, it takes its name from the former town of Kanaya in present-day Shimada, Shizuoka.

The cultivar buds several days later than Yabukita, offers good yield and cold resistance, and is known primarily for quality sencha with body and a mild milky aroma. It is also cultivated in other tea regions where its balanced sweetness and aroma contribute to distinctive green teas.
