## Houshun and Kyoto Covered Tea

Houshun is a Kyoto-bred cultivar selected from naturally crossed Samidori seedlings and registered in 2006. It was developed for covered tea and is suitable for gyokuro and tencha used in matcha production.

The cultivar buds early and produces relatively large, soft leaves. Finished tea is associated with a refreshing aroma, mellow taste, rich umami, and low bitterness when cultivated and processed for premium shaded tea.
